Professional Music Engraving

Music engraving for the "high-end" market is our main business. Through the large number of jobs we have completed in the past eight years, we have acquired experience with almost all kinds of music. During the past two years, especially, we have proven our high efficiency in handling large and complicated jobs, such as operas and full-colour music books.

Because top-quality is our goal, we use the best music publishing programs currently available: SCORE^® by San Andreas Press and Graphire Music Press^®. They are the only software programs that offer the accuracy and flexibility necessary to produce the fine engraving we are aiming for.

Our ability to create a customised symbol-library for each client is much appreciated by them. This allows us to produce scores which look very similar to the client's house style, which, often, had been developed many years before the computer-era, yet can now be reproduced with modern technology. Some of these custom-made symbols are available to everyone (for further information refer to the files symbols.hlp and symbols.txt, both available for download at ftp://ace.acadiau.ca/music/score/).

Our knowledge of programming allows us to create special utilities which greatly enhance Score's functionality and can automate repetitive tasks. The result is that many jobs can be completed more quickly and with greater accuracy.

A dynamic team that makes it all work!

Our team consists of highly-skilled professionals including those who have expertise and academic training in music of many styles and periods, and a comprehensive knowledge of SCORE^® and Music Press^®.
All graphics are created in-house, for which our graphics designer is responsible. One member of the team creates the majority of the utilities used to enhance the functionality of existing programs: for him, no problem is so great that it could not be solved by a utility!
Because we like to communicate with our clients in their own language, we speak and write fluently in English, French, German and Dutch. We also have a working knowledge of Italian. All internal communication is done in English and French.

The international nature of the team helps us in solving difficult problems, because, since many of us have received contrasting systems of education, learned different approaches and have benefitted from the influences of disparate cultural backgrounds, we can each turn to the others for an alternative point of view. Yet we all hold to the guiding principle that we should be producing a product for posterity.
